Come and go anytime. The door is open.
Sunday, April 14, 3:00–5:30 pm
Friends Meeting House, 4312 SE Stark, Room 12
Open Door Dharma circles offer an opportunity to settle quietly with others to chant, reflect, share, and connect in community. The gatherings incorporate teachings from sanatana dharma, Buddhism, Abrahamic traditions, and the mystic poets and teachers from many cultures and paths.
All are welcome; donations at the door are appreciated but not required. Meditation and chanting from 3:00-4:15, then tea and conversation 4:30-5:30.
Come and go however feels right for you, for chanting and sitting, light food and conversation. Support Open Door Dharma online or at the door. Questions? Contact us.
Open Door Afternoon
3:00–4:15 Settle quietly to rest in the moment. Chanting, simple sitting, and dharma reflection turn our attention to the heart.
4:15–4:30 Tea break Chai and sweet & savory nibbles are on hand, and we we take a few minutes to stretch and shift to conversation. You’re welcome to bring “finger foods” to share (there’s no kitchen access).
4:30–5:30 Being alive here and now, conversations this spring will relate to Buddhist precepts as defined in Thich Nhat Hahn’s book, For a Future to be Possible. The teachings and commentary mirror the path of loving awareness and service shared by Ram Dass and Neem Karoli Baba. Kindness, honesty, curiosity, and light hearts frame our reflections on how we’re navigating the world in this time.
