Open Air Meditation at Lownsdale Square
Tuesday August 14, 4:30–5:30 pm
Lownsdale Square
SW Third Ave. between SW Salmon and Main Streets, Portland
Late afternoons on alternating Tuesdays through summer, we can turn our awareness to our breath and body as we sink into each moment, allowing the world to be all that it is. This simple practice is an antidote to the chaotic nature of these times, an opportunity to refresh our hearts and regain our balance.
Everyone is welcome, no special technique or skill is needed, no special occasion, no style or even belief is required for simple meditation.
Fast pace and pressures, tension and distress define our era, amplifying the more natural concerns, demands, desires, and responsibilities we all hold. We seldom have opportunities outdoors to simply be, to sit in stillness with our love and our sadness, our confusion and our clarity, and remember who we really are.
This is that opportunity, as you make your way to the bus, heading home from work. Feel free to stop by and sit, to step out of time with a kind intention, and just be. Nothing special, just time to sit quietly in the heart of the city, slip into the moment, and come home to your true nature.
Stop by and stay as long as you choose.
