Hanuman Casita PDX
3841 SE 51st Ave., 2 blks south of Foster
A warm, come-as-you-are gathering as we move past the midpoint of winter.
From 4:00-5:30, we’ll have an Open Door dharma gathering, sing Hanuman chalisas, reflect on poetry or a wisdom teaching, and chant the rhythms and names of the divine.
Then we’ll open the door wider to share a veg/vegan potluck with anyone who wants to come to eat and share time in community. Come when you can and stay however long works.
Whatever your path or practice, the door is open. Join us for connection, satsang, sangha – friends who love this broken, beautiful world, and are finding ways to tend the wounds we see around us with love and kindness, and active compassion.
Bring a veg or vegan dish to share with 4 or 5 folks!
We’ll sip chai and sing a while, then move to the table to share a great meal and good company.
Lend a hand to Winter Warming.
Winter isn’t over for folks living on the streets. Just like beauty, suffering is everywhere. Actions of kindness and caring matter, everywhere.
Bring something warm to the February Satsang Potluck. A pair of handwarmers or NEW or LIKE-NEW hats, scarves, jackets, sweaters, long johns, and new warm socks and gloves — whatever you can give matters!Bring them on Sunday, to HELP folks stay warm in the cold! Donate for all ages – babies, kids, adults, elderlies.
All items should be in good condition, like you’d offer to family.
We’ll distribute them on the streets and to shelters.
