Sundays
12/1 and 12/15: 9:30 am–11:30 am at 3841 SE 51st, PDX
A Sunday home-style satsang gathering, with kirtan and chanting, dharma dialogue, and a half-hour sitting meditation.
We chant in western bhakti mode and reflect on dharma teachings from timeless wisdom traditions, followed by sitting meditation for 30 minutes. Stay a few minutes for chai and sweets afterward. These circles, offered in the spirit of devotion, service, and love, follow Ram Dass’s footsteps to the heart of “who we really are.”
Stop by when you can and stay as long as you like – the door is open. All are welcome and the structure is loose. Help yourself to tea and join us on a cushion near the altar, or hang out on the couch.
All backgrounds, traditions, interests, and longing are welcome here. Our ever shifting circle includes sweet voices and rusty pipes; longtime devotees and new practitioners; and folks who are just curious what this simple homespace might be about. Hand drums and instruments are welcome, too.
Devotion and Service
Decades ago, Neem Karoli Baba–affectionately called Maharajji–drew Ram Dass and many, many Indian and Western devotees to the path of devotion and service. This path for householders has spread far and wide, opening countless hearts and deepening daily lives.
Loving devotion, Buddhist wisdom, nondual insights from advaita vedanta, and practices from Abrahamic and other world traditions all flow into the river of sanatana dharma that Neem Karoli Baba embodied.
Stop by on Sunday to chant, to sit, and to enjoy warm conversation that reminds us of our true nature, here and now. Questions? Contact Anjani, or ask when you get here.
