Open Door Dharma Circle
Living Earth Gathering
Sunday, January 21, 3:00–5:00 pm
Friends Meeting House, 4312 SE Stark, Room 12
The cutting cold of winter grabs our attention and urges us to slow down. It reminds us of winter’s power to cull herds and flocks and reflects our human vulnerability. Our dharma circles offer an opportunity to settle quietly in community to chant, reflect, and connect.
These gatherings include teachings from Neem Karoli Baba, Ram Dass, the Buddha, and other enduring spiritual traditions.
All are welcome. Donations are appreciated but not required; see below. Questions? Please contact us.
From 3:00-4:ish, we settle in with chanting, quiet sitting, and dharma reflection, turning our attention to the field of the heart. Then we lightly shift toward friendly connection and conversation.
From 4:15–5:00, we’ll check in on how life in these times is feeling to us, flowing for us (or not), all considered through the lens and intentions of contemplative practice. Softening our opinions, we listen and share with curiosity, honesty, humor, kindness, and respect.
Tea and sweet & savory nibbles will be on hand. Feel free to bring something to share. (“Finger foods” are best, as we won’t have kitchen access.)
