A Picnic for InterDependence
July 4 : BYO Potluck at Mount Tabor
July 4, 5:30–7:30 pm ~ Mount Tabor East, Area B (facing Mt. Hood)
Join us for a BYO potluck veg/vegan picnic on the eastern slope of Mount Tabor. Musical instruments, songs, poetry, friends, and family are welcome. A simple summery time to share a meal and appreciate the boon of community, of our interconnections, and our interdependence with all life everywhere.
Mount Tabor Picnic Area B, facing east to Mount Hood. See directions and map below.
Be sure to bring:
1. A potluck dish to share and your own beverage.
2. Your own plate and utensils.
3. Family and friends of all ages, and four-leggeds on leashes, too.
4. Musical instruments, songs, poetry
5. A listening heart, a curious mind, an honest view, and a sense of humor!
In these post-2020 days, our “common bonds of affection” have been painfully strained. An old saying goes, “Love what’s easy first, and it’ll be easier to love what might seem hard later.” We’ll affirm what’s easy so we can attend the frayed bonds that bind all beings that share this place and this planet.
DIRECTIONS: From SE Belmont, turn south on SE 69th for 2 blocks, to the “T” at Mount Tabor Drive. Turn LEFT there to enter the park (walking, riding, or driving). Within 150-200 yards, look to the east (left, toward Mount hood) for bright prayer flags along the railing to enter, then look for them again to see our table.
