Lownsdale Square Meditation
Tuesday June 19, 4:30–5:30pm
Lownsdale Square
SW Third and Main Street, Portland
Late afternoon on alternating Tuesdays through summer will be a simple opportunity to sit, to sink into the moment and breathe, allowing the world to be just as it is.
This simple practice is an antidote to the chaotic nature of these times, an opportunity to refresh our hearts and regain our balance. Everyone is welcome, all ages and inclinations. No special technique or skill is needed, no special occasion, no style or even belief required for simple meditation.
Elevated levels of distress and tension have become a norm in the accelerated pace of our society – a norm defined by the pressures and demands, desires and responsibilities we all face. Most of us have too few opportunities to simply be, to sit in stillness and remember who we really are.
But this is that opportunity. Whether you have a regular practice or no practice, stop by and sit. Nothing special, just an easy time to sit quietly in community, slow down from the day, and come back to your heart.
