Come celebrate the full dive into summer with a veg/vegan potluck dinner and stories and songs praising Hanuman, the Breath of Ram, Defender of the Oppressed, the Best of All Monkeys!
Friday June 22, 6:30-8:30 pm
Potluck at Hanuman Casita SE
3841 SE 51st Ave., between Bush & Gladstone (Betsy’s house)
We’ll share a great meal to welcome the summer, and hear stories telling of Hanuman, the timeless Hindu embodiment of service, devotion, and compassion.
Bring a veg or vegan potluck dish, hot or cold to share. Bring friends, too, and drums and voices and bells. With cooperation from the Sun, we’ll spill onto the porch and the front yard, otherwise we’ll be inside. Shoes can be slipped off and left on the porch as you come in.
We’ll chant simple mantras and the ancient Hanuman Chalisa, forty verses in praise of Hanuman – beloved son of Anjani and Vayu, also called Maruti, the son of the Wind, to welcome the days of summer that lie ahead.
