Sunday, June 5
Join us for an early summer Community Gathering! Actually, it’s a two part gathering, so come whenever it suits you.
5:00-6:00 pm Simple sitting, quiet chanting, connecting in the moment.
6:00-7:30 pm Small-plate foods and tea, chatting and catching up, conversation and discussion.
At the Friends Meeting House *
4312 SE Stark, Room 12
There’s no charge to attend, but there is a little catch: Attendance is limited to 12 folks in the room for Covid safety (see below), so we need to track how many plan to come, in case there’s no room for walk-ins. REGISTER HERE
Room 12 is carpeted, light, and comfortable, with windows looking toward the garden. It’s not exactly a potluck, but we’ll have light food at 6:00 pm (we won’t have access to the kitchen). And if you’re inclined to bring a small contribution of something veg or vegan, savory or sweet, please feel free!
From 5:00-6:00, early arrivers will settle in quietly to soften our edges and shake off the dust of the day.
From 6:00-7:30, we’ll have time to chat and share a light meal, then turn to a gently structured, interactive reflection on where we’ve each been in the past year or two, and on what moving forward looks like in our lives, as we approach summer in this transformed time.
Due to space limitations, please “register” before June 4, so we know when to close the invitation. (The registration page asks for a tiny donation, but it’s only so we know how many will be there; our free event registration page isn’t set up yet.) If you’d rather not use that link, no problem. Just email us.
- COVID-reality check: Please be aware that Friends continues to ask that folks who come to the Meeting House be vaccinated, and unless we’re outdoors, we’ll respect community safety by wearing masks except when eating and drinking.
