Two Sunday Gatherings:
The Deep Roots of Kindness
October 9 & 16, 4:00–6:00 pm
Quaker Meeting House, 4312 SE Stark, PDX
Open to all, no charge. The Meeting House is fully mobility accessible, with street and neighborhood parking and bike racks in front. A few flowers or sweets are welcome, if you feel inclined, and program donations are welcome, but optional.
In a world that seems to be breaking apart, we’ll explore wisdom practices of compassion, cultivating the stability, resilience, and courage we need to be of service in a troubled time. These qualities are the antidote to fear and alienation. Being in community refreshes our intention and sense of belonging, while simple practices nourish our hearts and change how we navigate engagement and responsibility, reminding us that we all are treasures, and we all can serve, here and now.
* 2 Sundays: Oct. 9 & 16, 4:00 to 6:00 pm
These afternoons will resemble Living Earth’s Open Door dharma gatherings and lovingkindness retreats. We’ll settle in, chant, sit, reflect on teachings from Ram Dass and other teachers speaking to the theme of kindness
Living Earth’s gatherings have their own fluid shape, but they carry a hint of Ram Dass’s many retreats and satsang teachings over the years on meditation, compassion, service, and social action.
