Most Sundays 9:30–11:30 am
(see dates above)
3841 SE 51st Ave., Portland
Our Sunday morning home-style satsang includes kirtan and chanting, dharma reflections, and a half-hour sitting meditation.
We chant in the bhakti tradition until 11:00 am, then sit quietly for 30 minutes. Chai, sweets, and conversation afterward. These circles are offered in the spirit of devotion, service, and love, following Ram Dass’s footsteps to the heart of “who we really are.”
Stop by and stay as long as you like – the door is open. All are welcome and the structure is loose. Help yourself to tea and join us on a cushion near the altar, or hang out on the couch or porch.
All backgrounds, traditions, interests, and longing are welcome here. Our ever shifting small satsang includes sweet voices and rusty pipes; longtime devotees and practitioners from numerous paths, and folks who are just curious what this simple space might hold. Hand drums and instruments are welcome, too.
Devotion and Service
Decades ago, Neem Karoli Baba, also called Maharajji, drew Ram Dass and many, many Indian and Western devotees to the path of love and service. This is a householder’s practice that has spread far and wide, opening countless hearts.
Loving devotion, Buddhist wisdom, nondual insights from advaita vedanta, and practices from Abrahamic and other world traditions all cascade into the river of sanatana dharma that Neem Karoli Baba embodied.
Stop by on Sunday to chant, to sit, and to enjoy warm conversation that reminds us of our true nature, here and now. Questions? Contact Anjani, or ask when you get here.
