In the space of a breath – a heartbeat – on Winter Solstice, a fine ray of light shows on the eastern horizon of our dreams. We’ll gather on Solstice night to celebrate.
Kavita MacMillan and Sean Frenette will cast musical nets around our hearts for us to chant with and dance with as the evening unfolds.
Dancers and dreamers, artists and activists, workers and wanderers, come! As the Sufi poet Rumi wrote,
Come, come, whoever you are.
Wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving.
It doesn’t matter. Ours is not a caravan of despair!
Come, even if you have broken your vows a thousand times.
Come yet again, come, come.
With music and poetry, candlelighting ceremony and circle dances, we’ll turn all we are leaving behind into rich compost for the seeds of beauty and hope we are planting for the coming year.
Come for community, poetry, shared ritual, and simple circle dance, to bow to this moment of mystery and turn our hearts toward the light.
